The Foundation has supported a range of pipe bands including those of Hawthorn City, the Royal Victorian Regiment Association, and the National Youth Pipe Band of Australia (NYPBA).
Support for NYPBA has enabled workshops for young pipers and drummers to be conducted around country Victoria, and has promoted pipe bands and Scottish culture in regional areas.
In 2015 the Foundation provided the Hawthorn City Pipe Band with a new set of drums. The band has developed an enviable standing in the pipe band movement and had just celebrated its 100th anniversary. It is one of the oldest continuously-active pipe bands in the world .
Scottish small pipes have been purchased for the Scotch College Pipes and Drums. Small pipes:
- allow pipers to expand their musical experience by playing traditional Scottish folk music with other quieter acoustic instruments such as fiddles and guitars
- widen the audiences that are exposed to the music of Scottish piping.
