The Scottish Foundation seeks to promote Scottish cultural heritage within and alongside Victoria’s rich and culturally diverse community of today.
It was established in 2010 in response to a bequest by Victorian businessman the late Geoffrey Donaldson AO. The Foundation aims to:
- ensure the ongoing support and encouragement of Scottish cultural heritage in Victoria
- strengthen that cultural heritage significantly
- achieve much higher public regard for it
- achieve much higher recognition of the values of the Scottish Enlightenment and their relevance to Australia today.
Formally the Foundation exists as the Victorian Scottish Heritage Cultural Foundation (VSHCF). The Foundation’s Board is appointed jointly by The Melbourne Scots and the Old Scotch Collegians’ Association.
